Hawaii Update

Image
My week in Hawaii was amazing! I got to meet a lot of other Christian dancers, spread encouragement and hope through dance, and learn more about worship and bringing dance back to the church.  It's so sad that dance has gotten a bad rap in the church world. It's such a beautiful way to express praise and glory to God. Many people have been touched this week through the power of dancing for Jesus--myself included.  We head to Mexico VERY early Monday morning. I'll be sad to leave Kona but excited to see what else God is going to do and teach me.  Continued prayer is appreciated. The climate is hot and humid and physical activity takes a toll on body and mind. But God is faithful. I don't do well with change, unknown schedules, and heat and the fact that I'm functioning quite well despite all three of those happening frequently shows that God is hearing and answering your prayers. :) Thank you! Here are a couple of pictures my friend took of me... ...

Outreach Update

Hey all!  There hasn't been much to say. Just the same old same old. But I realized I haven't said where I'm going in Outreach yet so here goes! I'm technically on Outreach right now. We spent the last two weeks here on base in Lakeside teaching dance classes to the Summer of Dance students. It was so fun and rewarding watching girls enjoy styles of dance they either had never done before or didn't previously like.  Tomorrow we will be flying to Kona, Hawaii to help with Project Dance! It's a big dance conference where various Christian dancers get together and teach/attend master classes, hold auditions, and have a giant dance performance in the public square for all to see. We get to help set up the stage, prepare rooms for guests, and participate in the classes and auditions. It's a great time to fellowship with other Christian dancers. The last five weeks of Outreach will be spent in Ensenada, Mexico. I don't know much about what we will be doing the...

Long-Due Update

Hey all!  Sorry it's been so long since I've updated you. Weeks seem to all mesh together and just like that I've been here 6 weeks! We've had some interesting lecture topics including Pioneering a Ministry, Health and Fitness, Inductive Bible Study, Secularism, and Prophetic Dancing.  All have had some interesting points and I've taken something away from each one but the recurring theme God keeps bringing me back to is "what is my identity".  I've spent so much of my life trying to find my identity; even in coming to this school I was hoping to solidify my identity as a dancer.  But every week God has set something on my heart convicting me that my one and only identity is His daughter.  It's a long process, but I feel Him slowly breaking away all my pre-conceived ideas on who I am and replacing them with His truth; there's a freedom to living for Christ rather than for myself.   Every week here is pretty much the same.  We have lectures i...

prayer request

I don't know if anyone even reads these posts but if you do I really need prayer. I'm completely burned out but I need energy to teach kids dance this week. I'm worn from so much human interaction and not enough down time. So prayers are greatly needed!

Quick Thing

I'll try to do a longer update this weekend but I wanted to throw this out there. I will be staffing the Summer of Dance here in Montana for the first three weeks of the program. If you or anyone you know would be interested in learning about and doing a short -term dance ministry this is perfect for you! Please share! All info is in the link below!  https://ywammontana.org/summer-of-dance/

Prayer Request

Prayers would be much appreciated right now! I pulled a back muscle while dancing yesterday and I'm in extreme pain today. Please pray that this would heal by Monday so I can continue dancing. Thank you!
